Including this move, I've moved about five times that I can remember. The most traumatic move, without doubt, was from the States to Calgary when I was a teenager. It's just cruel to yank a teenager from subtropical weather to the Canadian mountains in January. At least this time, the beautiful, mild Canadian spring blessed us. Also, I have to thank my younger sister for her help in the transit. Yes, she never lifted anything heavier than my bedside lamp or laptop case thanks to her new manicure, but she also brought a few burly friends from university who were willing to move just about whatever I wanted for a couple of forty pounders, bless their cheap, likely pickled hearts. Between us all, we managed to transport all the contents of my old place to my new one in a day, and we even had time to grab some dinner after.
I must admit that I'm a blogging virgin (shocking, I know), but I still find this whole ParksNet thing pretty awesome. No worries about transferring service or anything, at least, which is nice after all the mundane tasks. Plus, I really need Hulu or a good iTunes station to play while I'm trying to remember important things, like if I actually packed cookware or where I put the box that temporarily houses essential items like bras, socks, and allergy medicine. It's a little known fact that crime procedurals conduce productive brain waves.
Anyways, not to sound like an eHarmony ad, but I'm Carrie, a 28 year-old SBF RCMP constable who enjoys mocking just about anything and would probably be rejected by eHarmony if I ever randomly decided to go that route. I've never been a fan of getting caught in the rain, but I do like piña coladas. Who doesn't, really?
